187 music row
Music Row is the epicenter of the Country Music business; a handful of streets housing the offices of many of the movers and shakers in the $4 Billion per year industry. Big Jim Diamond is one of those movers and shakers. A star of The Grand Ol' Opry in the fifties and sixties, he turned to publishing and his company, Diamond in the Rough, became one of the biggest publishing houses in town. His writers have garnered "Song of the Year" awards by the bushel. As a producer and writer, he's had a hand in more Number One hits than anyone else in the business. But, as much as Big Jim is loved and admired, you don't get to be as big a star as he is without ruffling a few feathers and stepping on a few toes along the way.
So when Big Jim is found shot to death in his office, the suspect list is long. Still, veteran detective Henry Gray and his partner, Brett Kennedy, are shocked by allegations of infidelity, theft, and even incest that are uncovered during their investigation. And the more they learn about the business -and the players- the longer the suspect list grows. Is it the writer who was about to be fired? The beautiful trophy wife Jim planned to divorce? The jealous competitor? There's only one way to find out. And they plan to do just that...
